Busy fun!

We've had a couple of busy weeks! First we had a great visit with some old friends, the Webb family! Kenny and James were in the Navy together, stationed on the same submarine back in the early 90's. We hadn't seen them for 15 years! It was fun to catch up and meet their kids. We had a wonderful time with them!

Kenny went with his Mom to Boston for a wedding. This picture is of Kenny's sister Marilyn, her husband John and Mom Eleanor. The wedding was for Kenny's niece (Marilyn's daughter). A nice time was had by all!

On the same weekend Kenny was gone, Nathan and Tim were also gone to a Youth Conference in Riverside. They had a good time, despite the 110 degree heat! Dan, Lizzy and I stayed home together, and spent lots of time in the pool!

Last week, Dan and Lizzy also went to VBS and enjoyed that very much!

Lastly, Friday night was our annual A's vs. Giants baseball game. We go with a huge group every year. The A's won!

This week may be a little quieter; not so many activities! Next week, we'll start swimming lessons for Dan and Lizzy, and Nathan is starting his job search too.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Happy Father's Day...and more!

  • We had a fun weekend! The pictures here are from Father's Day when Kenny was opening his presents. We got him a new blender with a big powerful motor and a grinder for his flax seed. That's what he asked for! :) We had a nice day yesterday, and Kenny got to take his honorary Father's Day nap. :) And don't you like his apron? He wanted to BBQ for Father's day! :)
  • Friday and Saturday were filled with fun times with friends and barbecues! It was great to see some old friends we hadn't seen in a while on Saturday too. All in all, a great weekend!
  • Today starts our first week with NO school to do! And tomorrow evening we'll get to see some more old friends that we haven't seen in 15 years...from our Navy days long ago. That should be lots of fun!
  • Happy Monday!

God's abundance!

On Saturday we went out as a family and picked cherries and apricots! We are so fortunate to live in a part of the country where fruit is in abundance at this time of year. And it's just beginning! The summer months are full of all sorts of fruit; mostly peaches...and corn on the cob...all locally grown!

The cherry trees were so beautiful! The orchard we went to was amazing. All of the trees were so loaded.

We're now enjoying eating them! :)

Fun and more FUN!

Nathan and Tim went to a Giants game with their friend Jon (and his Dad, Bob) and had a great time. Don't worry; they are still A's fans! :)

Tim, Jon and Nathan at AT&T Park in SF.

Nathan's Biology class took a "Field Trip" to Santa Cruz to celebrate the completion of their year together. The weather was beautiful, and they had fun!

Saturday evening we had our Year End Celebration with our Keepers of the Home/Contenders of the Faith group. The kids all got Character Trait awards and a gift card (boys got Home Depot and girls got Michael's). They did many different skills this year together.

Tag, you are it!

I've been tagged.... once again!

Here are the rules:

Mention the rules on your blog.

Tell about six unspectacular quirks of yours.

Tag four friends by linking them.

so here goes...

1. I like the sheets on my bed tucked in very tight at the bottom. I can't stand it when they get all loose, and come untucked.

2. I like ketchup on macaroni and cheese!

3. I like hotdogs plain, with no ketchup, mustard or anything! Just a bun and an dog.

4. It really bugs me when I can't find something that is lost in my house. I will look obsessively until I find it!

5. I like to wear shoes in the house, almost all the time! Even if it's slippers...I don't like to walk around with bare feet!

6. I have to have half doses of novacaine at the dentist; or they use the stuff that they use on heart patients b/c it takes forever to wear off! If they give me a full dose, it makes me numb for almost 12 hours!! It also makes my skin crawl and I feel dizzy and nauseous. I have had two small fillings done with NO pain killer at all (years ago), by my own choice. Thankfully I haven't had to to have a filling for a long time!

**Now I will tag Jessica, Caley...and I don't know who else reads my blog that actually has a blog to post on!
