Pictures just for fun! (and to make Carol smile!) :)

Nothing much is new...another week has already gone by! We are almost done with school (two more weeks) and we're all looking forward to having a break.

Here are a few pictures just for fun! :o)

A Day to Remember....

Today is Memorial Day. A day to remember those who have served our country and those who STILL serve our country, keeping it free! Thank you!

"Although no sculptured marble should rise to their memory, nor engraved stone bear record of their deeds, yet will their remembrance be as lasting as the land they honored."
~Daniel Webster

From Wikipedia:

"Memorial Day
is a United States Federal Holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it was expanded to include those who died in any war or military action."

So, if you have an American flag, please put it out today in honor of our true heroes!

Tag, you're it!

I was tagged by Trish and I’m supposed to fill in four of each thing and then tag four people at the end…

1. Four jobs I have had in my life: Making cotton candy at a mall food court; retail sales in culinary shop; administrative assistant at a personnel agency; MOM.

2. Four places I have lived: California, South Carolina, Idaho and Washington

3. Four shows I watch: CSI, 24, ER and Lost

4. Four places I have been: Spain, Mexico, Orlando, Florida and Nantucket Island

5. Four blogs I read regularly: Stef's, Brooke's travel blog, Caley's, Trisha's

6. Four favorite foods: Mexican, gooey cheese pizza, watermelon, good chocolate

7. Four places I’d rather be: on a beach, on a cruise, Hawaii, right where I am. :)

8. Four things I look forward to in the next year: losing weight, going to the beach with my family, swimming in the summer and our anniversary.

Now I tag...Caley, Jess, Kathryn and Stef (even though I think you already did this a while back?) If so, you don't have to do it again! :)

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Kenny!

We were so busy that I didn't have time to post it yesterday, but Sunday, May 18th was Kenny's 43rd birthday!

We love you!

Mother's Day and Weekend

We were down in La Habra this past weekend for Mother's day and to celebrate all of the May birthdays. We had a nice time!

Dan's going to dig in!

We took our dog with us, and she did great in the car AND got along with my parents' dog too. God was good! We also had a yard sale while we were there to raise some money to go to Knott's Berry Farm in July when we go back down.

Oh...and Lizzy lost her other front tooth...now she's totally toothless in the front! Pretty cute!

Trixie and Louie

Our dog Trixie, and our cat Louie are actually good buddies! They love to play together. Nathan took a short video of them, and then he (somehow) made this picture of the frames from the video! I have no idea how he did it, but it's a cool picture. I'm so low-tech...my kids are much more computer "savvy" than I. And you know what? I'm good with that. :o)

Rocket Man!

Saturday morning, the boys and Kenny went to the park with our home school group, Contenders for the Faith, and shot off the model rockets they had made the evening before. They had a great time, and the rockets actually went REALLY high!

Dan and Tim checking out one of the rockets.

Blast off!!!!!

Kenny and Bob - the launch men. :)

Nathan painted our family's rocket - quite patriotic, don't you think?

Brave Dan!

Dan was pretty brave! Friday night, he slept out in his fort ALL night long, all by himself! He thought it was pretty fun! :) Kenny slept downstairs on the couch, near the door...just in case.
