Kitten

We have a new "family" member named Louie. He's 6 weeks old, and a gift from our friends the Mackanics. :) The kids are enjoying him, but our other cat Belle is NOT...yet.

Longest Day

Today is June 21st - the longest day of the year, first day of summer and Summer Solstice!

Time flies....

Oh dear...I have neglected our blog for a long time!! Anyway, we just finished up a very nice weekend! My parents drove up for Father's Day and for Lizzy's dance recital (which was Friday) and we had a good time with them.

Lizzy's recital was very fun...lots of super cute little, tiny girls! Lizzy's class did two different dances; one tap and one 'disco' to Disco Duck! The first picture is Disco Duck and the second picture is from the tap number. I know they're blurry...but they wouldn't let us use flash photography during the show! Lizzy is in the middle, back row. :o)

We are officially done with school! Hurray! Actually, we are 3/4 done, because Nathan is still doing Chemistry for a couple more weeks. He didn't want to try to cram too much into a shorter time, and I think it was wise to just finish it at a reasonable pace. So, the younger three kids are done and Nathan is almost done. :)

Nothing much else is new here...just the regular stuff going on day to day. Hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day!

New drink!

I tried a new drink at Starbucks this morning...an iced, nonfat, sugar free caramel latte! It was really yummy, and only 120 calories! :o)


And I got to visit with Emily for a few minutes at the end of her break!

Weekend...

Ah, another Monday rolls around. We had a great weekend, hope you did too!

• Friday night we had our 'end of year' dinner with our home school group. It was a fun evening at the park, just relaxing and the kids played. The kids all received their badges that they'd earned throughout the year too.
  
• Saturday we didn't do much, but we ran several errands and worked around the house. It was GOOD to not have any obligations. :) The kids went in the pool and we had some yummy BBQed burgers for dinner with mozzarella and portobello mushrooms.
  
• Sunday was a wonderful day, with the Lord's Supper, hearing our kids' choir sing (they did great!) and also hearing two testimonies from two of the teens at our church. It was very encouraging to hear what God has done in their lives and to see God raising up the next generation for His kingdom. We also had friends over yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a relaxing time here.

Today we're off and running with school, Lizzy's dance class and Nathan and Tim's end of year piano recital tonight. Another week has begun!

It can't be....

Is it really the weekend again...already?!? This week has flown by so quickly!

• Monday was Memorial Day - picnic with friends, relaxing at Starbucks and not much else! NICE!
• Tuesday was a school day with piano lessons, grocery shopping and TaeKwon-Do added in!
• Wednesday was school, baking bread party with Lizzy and friends, piano recital for Nathan and Tim, prayer meeting for Kenny, choir for Dan and Lizzy...I think we ate in there somewhere too! :)
• Also on Wednesday - CONGRATULATIONS to our friends, Gretchen and Patrick Yimbo on the birth of their third son, Peter Xavier!
  
• Thursday was a fairly quiet day, with just school, recital pictures for Lizzy's dance class and TaeKwon-Do.
• Friday...TODAY! This evening we are heading to the park with our Keepers of the Home and Contenders for the Faith group for pizza and family fun together. Should be a great day for it as it's supposed to be beautiful and warm, but not too hot.
• And tomorrow...Saturday...amazing thing...we have NOTHING on our calendar! Woo hoo! So don't call us or come over. haha We will be spending some family time together around the house, Lord willing.
